How to Replace a Dual Element Air Filter
A Briggs & Stratton genuine dual air filter element will help extend the life of your engine. If you have a combination air filter with pre-cleaner, replace pre-cleaner every 25 hours or every season, and replace cartridge every 100 hours. If you do not have a pre-cleaner replace cartridge every 25 hours or every season, more often under dusty conditions.
How to Replace Dual Element Air Filter:
- Remove knob(s) and cover.
- Carefully remove foam pre-cleaner, when so equipped.
- Reinstall cartridge, nut(s), pre-cleaner and cover. Retighten knob(s) securely.
- Replace if very dirty, damaged, or doesn't fit properly.
How It Works:
Combination filters provide the highest degree of air filtering in the industry. The foam portion is used as a pre-cleaner for the paper element. Pre-cleaning the air increases the life of the more expensive paper element. Air passes through 2 types of filtering mediums providing clean air for the engine.
